FAQs

What is Pu’er tea?

With a history spanning over two millennia, Pu’er tea is one of the oldest types of tea. Originating from Yunnan province in southwestern China, there are two types of Pu’er: raw, green sheng Pu’er and ripened, dark shu Pu’er.

What food pairs well with organic Pu’er tea?

Rishi Tea’s loose leaf Pu’er tea has a strong, earthy flavor and may help you digest a large, rich meal. Enjoy organic Pu’er tea after a meal with strong umami flavors, such as meat dishes or stir-fries, or traditional Chinese fare such as dim sum.

Can I brew Pu’er tea cold?

Yes, it works well as a cold tea. You can try the Pu’er Longbrew, which mixes earthy sweetness with notes of cocoa. Brew 20 grams Pu’er Classic in 20 ounces filtered water for five hours, covered. Drain, allow to cool, then serve chilled or fresh over ice.

What is the best way to enjoy Pu’er Classic?

Organic Pu’er tea is a great choice for your morning tea ritual, especially on those days when you want to savor a cozy drink. The black, deeply oxidized properties of Shu Pu’er are associated with warming yang energy and perfect for cool weather.

Reviews Summary
Customers say: this pu'er tea is smooth, rich, and full-bodied with earthy, mineral notes and hints of chocolate or caramel. Many find it an excellent coffee replacement, providing sustained energy without jitters. Users appreciate that leaves can be steeped multiple times while maintaining flavor. The tea works well both hot and iced. While most praise its deep, complex taste, some mention a fishy or seaweed-like aroma in the dry leaves. A few find it bitter or weak when brewed western-style but prefer traditional gongfu brewing methods. Overall, customers describe it as high-quality and satisfying for daily drinking.

    Pu’er classic

It’s tasty, but a little too earthy on its own.

I added some unsweetened cocoa powder to the infuser, and that made it better for my tastes.

I really prefer your Creme Brûlée mix the best, as do so many other of your buyers, I definitely get why your hand mixed small batches are so delicious, with such good quality ingredients.

    Thank you for being picky.

    Indescribably delicious!

Distinctive mellow fragrance and flavor - enjoy it immensely and consider it superior to other pu’erh teas that I have tried in the past.
