Cinnamon Cassia is one of the first spices recorded in human history. Its use can be traced back to 2700 BC in China. The ancients of Egypt, Persia, Greece and Rome all used cinnamon in their cuisines. Cinnamon comes from an evergreen tree in the Laurel Family that bears aromatic green leaves used by local people in porridges and drinks. It is the sweet, astringent and highly aromatic grades of the tree bark that is harvested , sun-dried, cut, graded and traded as the cinnamon we all know and love.

This tea provides a wonderful start to my day. It is the perfect caffeine free alternative to coffee. I drink mine with a little honey and a splash of milk. Delicious.

I found Rishi tea at one of our specialty grocers here in Dallas, TX. After trying several different herbal Rishi teas, I found Cinnamon Tulsi Spice and now drink it quite often (like later today).
Since ordering it from Rishi does not include buying the sachets, I ordered it in loose bags.
And, because the price between a smaller and the larger bag was small, ai ordered the larger bags, one for my daughter and one for me.
Now I can enjoy this excellent, deep flavored herbal tea that does not need sweetener at all for a long time.
The cinnamon flavor comes forth while the spice is very subtle, making drinking this tea every day an enjoyable experience without getting tired of the flavor.
