About this tea
Blue Butterfly Pea flowers are native to Thailand, Malaysia and can be found in other parts of SE Asia. The flowers have a high content of anthocyanins, a family of red, blue and purple plant pigments widely researched for their flavonoid benefits. In Thailand, the flowers have been used for centuries for hair and scalp health in ancient types of shampoo. Nowadays, the flowers are very popular in tea and herbal blends because they easily infuse their vivid blue pigment. The flowers are infused in water, sugar, milk or oil as a natural food color. The blue infusion color can change before your eyes to purple and fuchsia with the addition of lemon, lime or other ingredients that change the pH of the infusion (displayed in the image gallery above). Many new cocktail recipes and cool, color changing herbal teas are being created with this wonderful flower from Thailand.

This is my new “decaf matcha” - love it!

This is now my go-to “decaf matcha” latte powder! Instead of matcha I replace with a tsp of this and it makes a gorgeous blue latte! It’s so delicious with unflavored collagen in the latte too. Perfect little nutritious decaf treat! Yes it’s expensive, but comparable price to high quality matcha, and it lasts a while! I also made it into an oat milk latte with boba and that was sooo good! 10/10!!

I like Rishi Tea products although they are pricey, but the product seems high quality as I’ve never had an adverse effect from say heavy metal toxicity due to undisclosed sprays or growing areas. I have had some strange issues from another company, which caused me to look into best practices. This company’s quality is a plus in my book!

I've been mixing this butterfly pea powder with rose powder and frothing them into almond milk, which gets mixed in with my jasmine pearl tea and fresh cut vanilla beans. Such a cool color, and I enjoy the taste a lot!
