- Darjeeling First Flush Tumsong EX3
Darjeeling First Flush Tumsong EX3
Fresh and aromatic with fragrant notes of muscatel, orchid and fine grapes. Very lively and fresh with a long-lasting aroma and elegance.
Tumsong is one of the top-rated tea estates in all of Darjeeling. The estate was planted in 1867 at the historic site of the Tamsa Devi Temple on the slopes of the Golden Valley, where the gardens face the highest Himalayan ranges and are met with constant cold winds. The microclimates throughout this expansive mountainous region cause the teas to grow gradually, concentrating and accentuating the remarkable floral and fruity aromas that define Darjeeling tea.
Tumsong includes several garden divisions spread across the hills and valleys of the estate. Variations in slope grade and sun exposure create distinctive differences in character from one garden division to another, even within close proximity. The influence of the Golden Valley terroir and its diverse microclimates makes Tumsong teas especially sought after for their signature floral and fruity muscatel notes alongside an elegant, complex tannin structure.
The eagerly anticipated first flush harvest in March and April produces teas with vivacious energy and vivid flavors of fruits and flowers found only in this extraordinary Himalayan tea region.
