A radiant, refreshing cup brimming with umami, dewy sweetness and enlivening spring energy

Crafted from the first leaves of spring, this premier mid-steamed (chumushi) sencha is delightfully smooth, dewy and juicy, with abundant umami and a pleasant bittersweetness that refreshes the senses.

The finest grade of sencha in our core collection, it is grown, selected and custom-blended for us by Nishi-san—one of Japan’s most celebrated organic tea producers—whose pristine gardens lie on the slopes of Mt. Kirishima, shielded by forests of cedar and pine.

A trusted partner since 2006, Nishi-san is known for his skilled cultivar selection and talent for crafting expressive, beautifully balanced teas. This vibrant sencha is a shining example, made to be savored again and again.

    Rich and dynamic. I go for an oversteep which gives a sharp, earthy flavor. Lovely? Potent caffeine. Timing, quantity & temp should be experimented with for preferred taste.
