An elegant jade green tea treasured for its savory and refreshing spring character

Reminiscent of classic Chinese wulu teas shaped by cloud-covered mountain terroirs, our Jade Cloud green tea is delicate and refined with a remarkable sweetness and purity.

This tea comes from remote, high-elevation gardens in China’s Hubei province, where the air carries the scent of pine forests. Every spring, during the last half of April, our partnering farmers from the Xuan'en Organic Yisheng Tea Cooperative harvest the leaves by hand. The tea is then processed using a combination of oven-baking, pan-roasting and steaming to create an elegant, harmonious taste.

The result is a rejuvenating cup that evokes dew drops on a pine tree—one that’s best prepared and enjoyed with intention. Savor this tea on a slow Saturday morning or during an early-afternoon break.

Xuan'en, Hubei, China

Hubei, China

Grown amidst a pristine natural environment, the teas from China's southwestern Hubei province have been known for centuries as a top tea region. We began sourcing teas from this region in the early 2000's and were among the first tea companies to help establish organic certification among the hundreds of family tea farms organized into a co-op system. The sub-tropical continental region has a misty mountain climate, encouraging the tea plants to grow slowly, concentrating their dewy flavor and producing a really special quality not found in common tea farms.

FAQs

What pairs best with Jade Cloud?

Jade Cloud has a smooth and mellow flavor which pairs best with seafood and vegetables. This delicate tea is also popular among tea lovers to drink on its own so you can fully experience the flavor.

Can I add milk to Jade Cloud tea?

Many tea drinkers don’t add milk or milk alternatives to green teas, but there is no rule that you can’t. This particular tea has a mellow, grassy-sweet taste, which milk may overwhelm.

What is the best way to enjoy Jade Cloud green tea?

Green teas are among the least processed teas which means they retain most of their natural and earthy aromas and flavors making for a smooth and delicate cup. We love steeping Jade Cloud sachets or loose leaf tea without any sweeteners to enjoy the true flavor.

Reviews Summary
Customers say: this green tea has a smooth, balanced flavor that's not bitter or grassy like some green teas. Many describe it as their daily morning staple, with several noting they've been drinking it for years or decades. The tea offers a pleasant, mellow taste with earthy and nutty notes, and customers appreciate that it doesn't become astringent. Many reviews mention it works well for multiple steepings and has a lovely aroma before brewing. While most praise the consistent quality and gentle flavor, one customer received a tasteless batch, and a few noted packaging issues.

This has been my daily tea of choice for many years. I (obviously!) just don't get tired of it. Before you steep the tea, take a moment to notice how delightfully sweet the dry leaves smell.
