- Matthew N.Verified BuyerRated 3 out of 5 stars2 weeks agoDidn't work out well for me in the gaiwan, decent tea
Tried to make this work in a gaiwan because I thought the leaves were larger but they were broken into smaller than expected pieces which makes sense as they are flat brittle leaves prone to crumbling.
That was the only reason I would try this was for the potential for it to work in a gaiwan as sencha is too needle like. I have had sencha before and would prefer that over this.
Lesson learned and next time I will get a kyuusu and dive into Japanese green teas more.

We really appreciate you sharing your brewing experience and the insight about the leaf size. A kyuusu is definitely a great choice for exploring Japanese green teas! - Suzanne A.Verified BuyerI do not recommend this productRated 2 out of 5 stars2 months agoTeaser not indicative of purchase
I ordered the teaser first to try it. The teaser was great - smooth and sweet, so I ordered 250 grams of the tea., which unfortunately tastes nothing like the teaser. It has a significant fishy taste , or taste of the sea. I’ve encountered that taste previously when resteeping certain green teas, so never resteeped them. But this tea has that taste on first steep. Really disappointing!

Only got the teaser packet of this. But it is teasing me. So I'll have to get a larger quantity to see if this will become a mainstay.

This tea taught me apparently my favorite green tea is bancha. Slight umami flavor, mild, and not bitter at all.
