Inspired by the popularity of our Matcha Super Green tea (first flush matcha blended with first and second flush sencha) we developed a super-premium version with organic gyokuro. Whereas Matcha Super Green highlights the fresh bittersweet character of sencha, Matcha Gyokuro has a smoother profile that delivers a rich concentration of umami and a silky, creamy finish unlike any other green tea we've ever formulated. L-theanine lovers rejoice!

Much like the rest of Japan, this region has well manicured tea gardens with well-developed irrigation, and farmers follow strict growing procedures to produce this perfect tea bush shape and size.

Based on an 8oz cup of tea made with suggested steeping method relevant to the tea type. An average cup of coffee contains about 90 – 120 mg / 8oz cup.

Water Temperature: 170°F

Leaf to Water Ratio: 10g per 320ml (11oz)

Steep Times: 1st infusion 45 seconds, 2nd infusion 15 seconds

For the best infusions, we recommend brewing this tea in a Kyusu teapot.

    Morning ritual

    Ever since trying Rishi’s loose leaf green tea, I can never go back to regular green tea in a teabag! The matcha gyokuro mixes perfectly with my collagen powder in the morning…making for the perfect morning ritual. Thanks for the great loose leaf green tea!
