About this tea
Our signature breakfast tea is a tippy Dian Hong growing between 1,600 - 1,800 meters in elevation at the densely forested Wa Shan Ecological Tea Garden in Yunnan. China Breakfast is beloved for its mellow character and hints of sweet caramel and raisin. Milder than English Breakfast, this tea presents a deep red infusion that is smooth enough to enjoy on its own or exquisite with milk and honey.

Wa Shan Ecological Tea Garden sits in Lincang, on the border with Myanmar (Burma) in southwestern Yunnan. Surrounded by a lush and biodiverse mountainous region, this certified organic tea farm is one we have been working with since 2013. Wa Shan is a famous tea mountain since ancient times named after the Wa ethnic minority who have farmed tea in this region for more than a thousand years.

    My staple black tea

    This is one of the best-tasting black teas that I've tried from multiple brands and samplers. It's now my daily tea and is great both hot with milk and iced with flavored syrups.

    Rishi China Breakfast is my go-to favourite tea! I go out of my way to order this from the United States to ship into Canada because it is so good - very flavourful and a warm and tasty way to start the day.

    Smooth daily breakfast brew

    Makes such a good, milder breakfast brew. Still a nice cup of black for first in the day (or later in the evening after a busy day, if i'm honest). This is my go-to, as I love Yunnan, but enjoy a cuppa that has a nice blend including my beloved, smooth Yunnan black.
