An anytime chai with a rich red rooibos base and a soothing, aromatic blend of herbs and spices

Because no one should have to forgo the comfort of a spicy cup of chai after dark, we came up with this delightfully rich, caffeine-free option. For the base, we selected a bold, nectar-like rooibos from South Africa’s Cederberg Mountains, layering in sweet cinnamon, hot ginger, aromatic cardamom, resinous clove and a hint of floral black pepper—the classic masala spices of South Asia. For a coffee-like kick, we added roasted chicory root, balancing it with the natural sweetness of licorice root, star anise and fennel. And for a refreshing finale: a prized variety of peppermint from the Pacific Northwest.

Soothing and complex, this tea is simply wonderful after a meal. You can also mix it with your choice of steamed milk and sweeten to taste for an anytime herbal chai latte.

    Complex, balanced, and flavorful.

I searched and searched for a rooibos chai. Went through several others, and all were disappointing. Rishi saved the day with West Cape Chai. So complex, balanced, and flavorful. I add just a tiny bit of honey to the cup. Perfection!

    Not strong enough

I made 1 cup of water, one cup of milk and 2 full teaspoons of the tea. Simmered for 10 minutes. I found the flavor nice but very weak. I’ll try adding more tea and also some fresh ginger and anise star. I like to taste the spices way more and get that kick on my mouth.

Excellence in a bag and the best news is it's caffeine-free!

I first tried a cup of West Cape Chai at W & D Chocolates in Midtown Tampa. Hoping to get it again, I called around asking them what the name of the tea was and where I could buy it. I found out it was Rishi and ordered a large bag and the teapot to go with it. I'm taking such pleasure in this tea and have decided to make my own chai lattes at home - all closely resembling what I had at W & D a few weeks ago. I'll continue to order this regularly!
