Tart, sweet and endlessly refreshing—a vibrant crimson infusion made for sunny days

Not to be mistaken for hibiscus commonly found in ornamental gardens, Hibiscus sabdariffa is a small shrubby plant whose flowers are harvested by hand after the blooms have faded, leaving just the juicy calyx behind. This part of the flower yields a ruby-colored infusion that has given rise to many beloved tea traditions across the tropics—from agua de jamaica in Mexico, brewed with citrus and sugar, to bissap in West Africa, flavored with ginger and mint.

We’ve selected a deep reddish-purple hibiscus with a bold sweet-meets-tart flavor and a lusciously velvety texture. Sip it straight with plenty of ice—or use it as a base to create your own mixed drinks and tea blends.

Native to Africa and Asia, Hibiscus Sabdariffa is also known as “Hibiscus Roselle” and is one of the most common and refreshing herbal teas consumed throughout Africa, The Americas, The Middle East and Asia. In Burma and Thailand, the tangy leaves are used in salads while the calyx pods, are sun-dried and used for making juices, herbal teas, liquors, sodas, marmalades, pickles and candies. Hibiscus has a tart and fruity taste that reminds one of cranberries, citrus and tropical punch.

Light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. I've been making it as a cold brew, and it's perfect for hot days. The color is beautifully vibrant, and the flavor tastes incredibly fresh. The packaging is excellent too. I'll definitely be ordering this again.
