For example, roasting transforms the character of tea, drawing out rich, toasty aromatics and giving the cup greater depth and body. Through our long-term relationships with growers and artisans, we get to follow this craft from leaf to cup, as tea leaves are carefully grown, harvested and gently roasted to create distinctive teas like full-bodied Houjicha, Iron Goddess of Mercy oolong and other roasted teas.

We look closely at each ingredient’s origin, season and craftsmanship, then share what we discover through thoughtful tasting notes and origin details. More than 95% of our teas are certified organic. You’ll find premium organic teas across many of our teas, including black, green, white, oolong, matcha and botanical blends.

Loose leaf tea gives you the flexibility to adjust the amount of leaf and steep to your preference. With room for the leaves to open within a teapot or infuser, you can experience how their flavor develops through different steep times and repeated infusions.

Our high-quality tea sachets are pre-portioned for an easy, consistent cup wherever you are, whether at work, while traveling or whenever time is short. Each sachet makes it easy to enjoy carefully sourced tea without measuring leaves, then simply lift it out of your mug for effortless cleanup.

We source our matcha from Japan, where tea plants are shaded before harvest to encourage the development of vibrant color, savory umami and natural sweetness. The leaves are carefully steamed, dried and milled into a fine powder, preserving the character of the tea in every bowl. 

Matcha can vary widely depending on its cultivar, growing region, harvest season and the way it is cultivated and processed. While grade can offer a helpful reference point, it doesn’t tell the whole story. We select matcha based on its distinctive character and how it performs in the cup. 

For matcha whisked with water, look for a tea with a balance of sweetness, umami and texture that you enjoy on its own. For lattes, a matcha with more pronounced flavor and body can stand up beautifully to milk.
