About this tea

Our signature breakfast tea is a tippy Dian Hong growing between 1,600 - 1,800 meters in elevation at the densely forested Wa Shan Ecological Tea Garden in Yunnan. China Breakfast is beloved for its mellow character and hints of sweet caramel and raisin. Milder than English Breakfast, this tea presents a deep red infusion that is smooth enough to enjoy on its own or exquisite with milk and honey.

Wa Shan Ecological Tea Garden sits in Lincang, on the border with Myanmar (Burma) in southwestern Yunnan. Surrounded by a lush and biodiverse mountainous region, this certified organic tea farm is one we have been working with since 2013. Wa Shan is a famous tea mountain since ancient times named after the Wa ethnic minority who have farmed tea in this region for more than a thousand years.

Many appreciate its bold yet gentle character, describing it as robust without being bitter or harsh. The tea works well both hot and iced, with or without milk and sweeteners. Common feedback includes praise for its full-bodied taste and reliable brewing quality. Some note subtle caramel, smoky, or honeyed notes. Mellow blend

This blend is exactly what I was looking for, a nice mellow blend. Does not require a sweetener. But packs a punch with adequate caffeine. My new go to daily cup

China Breakfast tea is very nice, especially in the morning with a splash of milk. Full flavored.

The China Breakfast tea is very good; nice robust flavor. I would buy again.

    Current batch is not good.

Not sure what's going on with the current supply they are shipping. Lacks body, lacks the maltiness, just all tannic.

I have to raise the temp because the rishi specs are terrible. Watery mess with no body.

Weird as I've had great batches in the past. Buyer beware.

Hi Jon! We're so sorry to hear that the current batch of China Breakfast didn't deliver the full-bodied, malty experience, especially when you've had great experiences with previous batches. We understand how frustrating it can be when a tea lacks the character and depth you're looking for, and we regret that this batch came across as overly tannic. Our Customer Service Team has reached out to learn more. We're grateful to share tea with you!
