Unique Sachet & Loose Green Teas
At Rishi Tea & Botanicals, we offer a large selection of both rare and time-honored teas, sourced from distinctive origins and either presented in their purest form or thoughtfully blended. Green is the least oxidized of the six tea types and is crafted with an essential processing step known as firing — the application of heat to halt oxidation. This process preserves the leaf’s vibrant green color and helps define its fresh, nuanced flavor and aroma. From classic favorites to modern expressions and bespoke organic blends, this collection offers something to explore for organic tea drinkers of all kinds.
How to Brew Premium Green Tea
To achieve the best results from these teas, add 12 ounces of hot water (180ºF) to 1.5 tablespoons (about 7 grams) of loose leaf tea and steep for 3-5 minutes. This type of tea is more delicate than more robust black teas, so gentler heat and shorter steeping times are key to a balanced, aromatic cup. Excessive heat or steeping can lead to a tannic, bitter brew, masking the natural sweetness prized in these teas.
Another popular green style is matcha, a powdered Japanese green tea that is traditionally whisked with water until frothy — it can be enjoyed in its pure form, or it makes an excellent matcha latte with your favorite milk or milk alternative.
