A silky ruby red infusion with a luscious, deep character and decadent notes of cacao, raisin and black cherry
Our Ruby Oolong is rooted in this history, cultivated by Chinese tea producers whose families have farmed these mountains for generations. Here, in the old-growth tea gardens of Doi Mae Salong, the soft, loamy soils develop nutrient-dense, uniquely flavorful leaves.
Once harvested, the leaves undergo deep oxidation and low, slow baking—a labor-intensive process that unfolds across a week or more. Withered, then tossed and shaped by hand, the leaves develop dark, fruity aromatics and a deep, layered character, revealing new, captivating facets with each cup.
As one of our classic loose leaf herbal teas, Elderberry Healer is best brewed with a simple infuser or teapot, letting the whole leaves fully unfurl for maximum flavor.

Leaf to Water Ratio: Fill 25% of a porcelain gaiwan with tea.
Steep Times: 1st infusion 1 minute, 2nd infusion 20 seconds, 3rd infusion 50 seconds, subsequent infusions about 2 minutes.

Doi Wawee, Thailand
Chiang Rai Province, Northern Thailand
Across northern Thailand, old abandoned tea plantations have grown wild for centuries. Known locally as "Assam tea," these ancient trees trace back to the 11th and 12th centuries, when Bulang and Dai peoples are thought to have planted tea seeds along their migration routes. Later, Han Chinese settlers from Yunnan brought Pu'er traditions to Doi Wawee, now celebrated by tea lovers as 茶房, or "the village of tea."

This tea is really wonderful. Having recently gotten into the world of loose leaf tea and different brewing methods , I'm a novice at best .
Being a "coffee snob" I've been intrigued by the world of tea and the many different varieties. As my journey into this new realm moves along, I found this tea just doing a quick search online.
I'm really happy with this tea. Its smooth, has a nice color and a very pleasant flavor. Now that I'm getting better at brewing methods , like gongfu and using cups that highlight the different "notes" of various teas, I'm really enjoying this newfound interest! I know I'll be trying other Oolong teas in the future, I think I've found my favorite one, this one!
I'll definitely be ordering from Rishi Tea & Botanicals , they have given me great tea and customer service

I've ordered this tea several times over the past 5 years. Seems about as dark as an oolong can get while still retaining that oolong character. The recommended 12 grams serving yields so many steepings it's ridiculous. Such a rich and lasting berry-like flavor. I consider it a treat, so much so, that I prefer the 100 gram bag for fear of growing tired of its uniqueness.

My favorite of all Oolongs! This tea is my special gift to myself, as it is somewhat expensive but worth every penny. The color is beautiful to look at and the flavor is so satisfying, just as tea should be.

Been a fan of this tea for years and it never disappoints.
The "RED" wine of Oolongs, IMO.
Fruity and earthy.
Just love it.

I love the ruby oolong tea. It has a depth of flavor that is rarely found in an oolong tea. I find I only need aboout a 1 teaspoon or less for a cup of tea.
