Nishi-san's Shincha Meiryoku

An organic Shincha with unique layers of floral aroma and bittersweet freshness with deep umami.

About 18 Cups Of Tea
$36.00

Bright with an electric lime hued infusion, deep umami with notes of coriander and cherry blossom

The name "Meiryoku" (茗緑) is written using the characters for "mei" (茗) and "green" (緑). The Meiryoku cultivar was officially registered in 1986 and is known for its refreshing aroma, taking its name from its bright green appearance.

The first-flush harvest of Meiryoku has higher amino acid and caffeine levels than Yabukita, offering a unique balance of fragrance and rich dashi-like umami. Its depth of flavor and complexity make it an outstanding choice for green tea connoisseurs.

This organic Shincha selection from Nishi-san’s garden is light-steamed and reveals distinctive layers of taste, combining floral aromatics, bittersweet freshness, and deep umami. Aromatic notes of coriander and cherry blossom add further complexity to the cup.

We hope you enjoy this special micro-lot as much as we do.
