A balance of slight umami with an energetic brisk character and a lasting mochi sweetness.

Shizukaori is a green tea bush cultivar developed in Shizuoka Prefecture. From 2005 to 2013, this cultivar was studied and recognized as an excellent tea variety for Sencha. In 2013, the tea cultivar was officially named as Shizukaori and registered as a new tea variety of Shizuoka Prefecture.

Shizukaori is harvested two days earlier than Yabukita. Both its first and second flush harvests are cultivated for Sencha. We selected this year’s first-flush harvest of Shizukaori which features a refreshing, crisp floral aroma reminiscent of mint and cherry blossoms, paired with a deep flavor and slight umami.

Its bright infusion offers a delicate, refined sweetness with a rich and refreshing taste. This tea is lively and balanced with layers of bitter sweetness and umami.
