Wuyi Oolong Huang Guan Yin
Gardenia, orchid, complex layers of fruity taste, floral, sweet and mineral
About This Tea
The exceptional geological and climatic conditions of the Wuyi Mountains further enhance the character of Huang Guan Yin rock tea oolong. The tea’s thick and rich rock essence gives it both fragrance and depth. Its flavor is soft and smooth, with a lingering sweetness and mineral resonance that envelops the senses and leaves a fragrant aftertaste on the palate.
Huang Guan Yin is part of the esteemed family of oolongs known as Rock Teas (Yan Cha), grown only in the Wuyi Mountains. These teas are cherished for their balance of floral, fruity, mineral, and umami flavors, supported by fine tannin structure and strength. Like fine wines, oolongs of this caliber are often compared to European classics: Fenghuang Dancong as the Burgundy of tea, and Wuyi Rock Tea as the Bordeaux or Barolo.
Tea tasters often use unique experiential descriptors to describe Wuyi Rock Tea. The “rock bones flowery aroma” (Yan Gu Hua Xiang) is a captivating interplay of floral fragrance, sweetness, mineral richness, and umami quality. Along with rock resonance (Yan Yun), these qualities are hallmarks of high-quality Wuyi teas, rooted in the region’s mineral-rich soil and unique terroir. Huang Guan Yin expresses this balance with its distinctive orchid character, smooth body, and layered rock essence, making it a truly exquisite tea experience.
