Cultivar: Jin Xuan "Golden Lily"
Elevation: 1,850m
Harvest Date: April 2017

Yunnan Orchid Green originates at the Wa Shan Tea Garden in the far southwestern part of Yunnan province. This particular region, along the border, with Myanmar has a rare lush microclimate. The local Wa ethnic people who farm these gardens promote biodiversity and ecological balance by preserving thousands of shade trees and allowing grasses to grow among the tea plants. The artisans who make this tea borrow a technique from the early stages of oolong tea processing called "Yaoqing" to coax out a subtle wildflower aroma and honey sweetness. Taste Yunnan Orchid Green and Yunnan Lily Black side-by-side to compare the performance of Jin Xuan cultivar made into green tea and black tea.

Tasting Notes: Refreshing green tea with distinctive notes of sweet chrysanthemum blossoms peaked with subtle wildflower honey and freshly baked chestnut brioche.

Ingredients: Organic green tea

I ordered a taster and like it a lot. Don't steep too long the first and second time; you can probably even get 4 steeps out of it.

This tea was recommended by a friend so I gave it a try. I usually like oolong teas because they have no bitterness. Some green teas are too bitter for me but this one is very sweet and has a floral aroma that I really like. It reminds me of oolong. One of my new favorites!
