This specialty micro-lot is inspired by the steamed green tea known as Enshi Yulu, a Tribute Tea that originated in the Tang dynasty using techniques of steaming and hand-shaping the leaf into needles. It is said that during the late 1600s, Japanese travelers experienced this tea process and caught inspiration for the Japanese Sencha technique. After withering, the tea is loaded into a steamer, then run through a series of air drying conveyors. The tea is rested on bamboo mats before rolling and is then rubbed, rolled, and shaped on the heated tables to fix the shape and aroma of the tea while slowly drying. The result is a vibrant and full-bodied spring green with notes of sesame, flowering broccolini, and fruity hints of cherimoya.

Organic green tea
Add 4g tea per 350-400ml (11-12oz) to a glass teapot, like our Ming Cha Teapot
or Simple Brew.
Use water cooled to 180°F
Add water and infuse for 3 minutes.
Repeat for another 3+ infusions. Increase the steeping time by 30 seconds with each additional infusion.
