Hibiscus Rooibos makes a punchy and fruity infusion with tropical Caribbean flavors that builds upon the body of African rooibos. The sweet and creamy character of sarsaparilla root—the secret ingredient in root beer—adds an ambrosial and irresistible aroma.

Ingredients: Organic rooibos, organic hibiscus flowers, organic sarsaparilla root, organic lemongrass, organic rosehips, organic licorice root, natural passion fruit flavor, essential orange oil, organic orange peel, natural pineapple and mango flavors.

Additional Info: Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis), meaning "Red Bush" in the Afrikaans language, is indigenous to South Africa's Western Cape where it was originally consumed by the Khoisan nomadic ethnic groups. Today, rooibos is cultivated near the Cederberg Mountain area within the wider Cape Floristic Region, a biodiversity hotspot home to a natural shrubland, or "fynbos," ecosystem.

Water Temperature: 195°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces
Steep Time: 5-7 minutes

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

I wanted to order some Hibiscus Rooibos tea after having tasted tea with the Tester amount. It was excellent but I was very disappointed that the only option was to purchase a full pound.

Wonderful smell. Dark red colour on first brewing, also on subsequent. That comes from the hibiscus, I guess. Taste is really pleasant, too. You probably wouldn't want to drink too much of this in one go (the flavour would be too strong) but it's really nice at the end of the morning. Maybe a bit too sweet for some people, but you can handle that by shorter brewing times, I'm presuming.
