Genmaicha is a staple tea of Japan and Korea made by blending sencha and bancha green teas with roasted rice. Traditional genmaicha has a mellow, toasty flavor that goes well with any meal. We infuse genmaicha with Japanese matcha green tea powder for a remarkably palatable cup with a vivid green infusion. With its fresh energy balanced with creamy sweetness, Matcha Genmaicha makes for a perfect "green breakfast" tea.

Tasting Notes: A premium, rich genmaicha infused with Japanese matcha for an extra creamy cup

For the best infusions, we recommend brewing this tea in a Tokoname teapot.

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

This tea is delicious. It's got that rich, toasty, nutty flavor that Genmaichas have with the beautiful brilliant green color of Matcha. It is not at all acidic or bitter, but instead mellow and hearty. The tea has a lot of rice in it which surprised me. It is pricey, that is its only downfall.
