Okumidori Fukamushi, Deep Green, Shincha
A fukamushi (deep-steamed) sencha from Shizuoka, Japan’s Hon-Yama tea cultivation region. This tea’s unique character comes from the Okumidori tea bush varietal. It is well suited to deep steaming and yields a rich, flavorful infusion with a vivid green and juicy character. This tea stands out with a strong, smooth body accented by subtle notes of toasted pine nut and layers of creamy flavor. The special drying technique used to finish this tea renders a hint of hika and nutty sweetness while still retaining the fresh character of shincha.
