Kohiki Danme Chawan
The wabi-sabi feel of this teacup can be found in the quirks and anomalies of its glaze, which add uniqueness and elegance. A light-colored teacup highlights the color of the tea infusion, which is particularly important to Japanese tea connoisseurs. This off-white color lends a great backdrop to vivid greens of the Japanese senchas, yet still imparts a truly natural feel. Kohiki or powder refers to the color of glaze; Danme or stripe refers to the horizontal lines beneath the glaze; and Chawan translates to tea bowl.
Origin: Tokoname, Aichi, Japan
Diameter 3.6" Height 3" Approx. 11 oz by volume.
