Fukugata
For most people who have studied or collected Japanese teaware, Tokoname instantly conjures visions of the famous red clay kyusu (side-handled teapot). The Fukugata exemplifies the iconic Tokoname kyusu. Although similar in size and shape to the red clay kyusu commonly found in Japanese households, the Fukugata is an exceptional work of art. The highly refined clay and masterful technique used to craft the Fukugata is apparent in its impeccably smooth, yet unglazed surface. The Sasame (clay mesh screen) gives this teapot superb function for all premium loose-leaf teas.
Origin: Tokoname, Aichi, Japan
