Matcha is the fresh, creamy tea served during the artful Japanese Tea Ceremony. This rare green tea is made from shade-grown tea leaves, stone-ground into a fine powder. Matcha powder is whisked into hot water and enjoyed for its uplifting energy and lively, sweet flavor.

Tasting Notes: Ceremonial stone-ground Japanese green tea

Ingredients: Organic stone-ground Japanese green tea.

For the price this is one if the best matcha green teas if tasted. I've had "ceremonial matcha" from from other sources at almost double the price and the taste didn't match the price. I had to add honey just to hide the bitterness. With this matcha from Rishi, I found it very easy to wisk into a nice froth and the taste was light and surprisingly sweet, no added sweetener was needed. The color is a vibrant green and smells as good as it tastes. I prepared it into a usucha (thin tea) I like a more watered down matcha but I'm sure if it's your "cup of tea" you could prepare a koicha matcha (thick tea) with this matcha from Rishi. Next I'll have to bite the bullet and order one of their higher grade matcha tea's.
