This invigorating tea tonic brings together Japanese matcha green tea, Brazilian yerba mate and lemon verbena. Although they originate from opposite sides of the globe, both matcha and yerba mate are traditionally consumed for a natural energy boost and greater mental focus. Matcha's deep sweetness balances the pleasantly herbaceous notes of green yerba mate and the fresh character of lemon verbena. The result is an uplifting, sublimely savory-sweet cup harmonized in both energy and flavor.

Tasting Notes: A lively blend of energizing mate and pure, revitalizing matcha

Ingredients: Organic green tea, organic yerba mate, organic lemon verbena.

Rishi Tea Blend (Origin of Yerba Mate: Parana, Brazil)
Water Temperature: 165°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces
Steep Time: First infusion: 2-3 minutes
Second infusion: 4-5 minutes

For the best infusions, we recommend brewing this tea in a Tokoname teapot.

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

I only recently (1 year ago) became a green tea drinker and this has become my all-time favorite, by far. I steep it twice and even those two experiences vary quite a bit from each other. The first one is obviously dominated by the matcha, which is a great eye-opener, with its even palate and zingy flavor. The second steep is milder and makes me appreciate the umami differences. This tea is a bit pricey, but when you consider what you get, I think it's well worth it.
