A robust and full-flavored black tea blended with our traditional Indian Masala spices with full notes of cardamom, ginger, and clove that are zesty and stimulating. Masala Chai should be brewed strong and served sweet with steamed milk and sugar.

Tasting Notes: A robust, full-bodied black tea blended with aromatic traditional Indian masala spices

Ingredients: Organic and Fair Trade Certified™ black tea, organic cinnamon, organic cardamom, organic ginger root, organic black pepper, organic cloves.

Additional Info: Masala Chai, or "mixed-spice tea," is a rich spiced tea latte traditional to South Asia. We source and curate the finest teas, herbs and spices at peak season, which are chopped, crushed or ground to release their essential characters and combined in micro-batch blends to harmonize for flavor complexity.

Rishi Tea Blend
Mix 2 tbsp chai, 1 cup water, and 1 cup milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in sugar or sweetener to taste. Strain into a mug or pitcher and enjoy! Chai can also be enjoyed over ice.

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

If you like a robust, high quality chai, this is the one you want! You can taste the individual elements of the spices, yet they blend perfectly.

This is some serious chai. Powerful and decadent. You'll want to go out for Indian food after trying this.

Ever since the first time I made Rishi's masala chai on the stove, I have been in love! I stock up and make it on days when I am home and have the time to thoroughly enjoy it. It's my favorite chai of all. Thank you Rishi Tea!

Its okay if you love cinnamon. The old formula had cinnamon as the 4th ingredient. Now it is second. As soon as I opened the package I new it was different. The tea it self wasn't even as black as the previous formula. Ihave been to India and this isn't even close. Where I visited, they didn't even use cinnamon. I poured what I made down the drain & gave the loose tea away. You have lost a customer until you bring back the old Masala Chai! Poor, poor quality!

This is my family's all time favorite chai blend. We add extra cardamom and grind it in a spice grinder just before brewing it.We drink it with goat milk and honey. We have all year, hot or cold.

Chai Flan

"This Chai Flan is one of my favorite versions of flan because it connects ancient cultures. I am able to make the recipes I grew up making with my mom in our Mexican kitchen while being raised in America and now using my new found love for tea and the different cultures it has introduced me to, such as India."

—Susana Mojica

Ingredients:

Flan:
5 Cage Free Vegetarian fed eggs
3 cups of organic whole milk (Organic Valley works very well)
1/2 cup of sugar
6 tablespoons of Rishi Organic Masala Chai, dry

Caramel:
Enough sugar to cover a deep skillet, about 2 cups

Making the Caramel:
Pour an even layer of sugar into a deep skillet. Cook over low heat. As soon as sugar starts liquefying around the outer edges, gently bring towards the middle with a heat- withstanding spatula. Monitor closely to avoid burning. Do not over stir.

Once sugar has liquefied into caramel, immediately coat the entire baking dish or ramekins evenly.

Making the Flan:
Combine milk and dry chai and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature to a simmer. After ten minutes, add 1/2cup of sugar, then simmer an additional five minutes. Strain tealeaves and spices, reserving two cups of brewed chai.

Beat eggs, adding one at a time.

Slowly add brewed chai to the beaten eggs and mix well.

Pour mixture into caramel coated dish or ramekins.

Place baking dish or ramekins into a larger pan. Add water to fill halfway up sides of outer pan.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes.

Let cool and place in refrigerator for 4 hours. Once set, flip onto a plate and enjoy!
