This bright, fresh green tea is grown in a pristine high-mountain climate in Hubei. Here we work with tea artisans at the Xuan En Yisheng Tea Co-op to cultivate organic teas. Spring harvests are crafted by pan-firing, oven-baking, and hot-air roasting into a lively, savory tea inspired by the classical Chinese green tea known as Wulu, or "Jade Cloud."

Tasting Notes: A lively, delicious everyday green tea nurtured by the clouds and cool mist of early spring

Ingredients: Organic and Fair Trade Certified™ green tea.

Additional Info: Green Teas are enjoyed worldwide for their invigorating, fresh character preserved through various crafting styles and firing methods.

This tea originates in Hubei, China. Explore the geography of Hubei below.

Water Temperature: 180°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces
Steep Time: 3 minutes (1st infusion), 4 minutes (2nd infusion)

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

I have never found another green tea this good for the price, much less an organic green. Nice chestnut flavor and very forgiving on steep time.

Forgiving in regards to brew time, but VERY bitter if correct temp. isn't observed. I use it in place of black tea when brewing Kombucha, and it conveys the nutty and grassy flavors very well.

The tea's dry leaf aroma is enchanting. Once brewed it offers a gentle, calming, complex flavor that never fails to satisfy. Fair trade certified, organic and grown in a pristine environment: You just can't do better than this.

Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon A perfect, basic green tea

This is the perfect "basic" green tea. I say "basic" because I've had other green teas that don't come close to the flavor and aroma of this tea. While others are bland and boring, this everyday green tea is wonderful for a quick cup. I will agree with the previous posters, don't mess with the temperature. I stick with 175. I highly recommend this tea to friends who are looking for an inexpensive, yet great tasting, organic green tea.

I've tried very many green teas, and this remains one of my favorites. It's got a mellow, grainy flavor that is always smooth if you brew it at the right temperature. This is my go-to afternoon tea. Rishi is top-notch, and I wish all the cafes here served it!
