For the best infusions, we recommend brewing this tea in a Tokoname teapot
We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

I've had houjicha from several different vendors in Japan and it has all been excellent. This one from Rishi is as good as the best I have had. So far I have only cold brewed it in the Essential Tea Pitcher, as I've always heard that houjicha is excellent iced or cold. I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree! Rishi's houjicha is smooth, very flavorful with a pleasant and mild roasted taste, and considering it's exceptional quality, it is also a good value. I've had cheaper houjicha's that were excellent, but this one is exceptional and the quality justifies the higher price. A definite 5 stars for this excellent tea!
