Long Jing, or "Dragon Well," is a classic Chinese green tea that undergoes special pan-firing and hand-shaping in hot woks to give the tender spring-harvested tea leaves a flat, sword blade shape. Dragon Well traditionally has a rich, savory and fresh flavor accented by hints of toasted chestnut.

Tasting Notes: A classic green tea with a balanced sweet-savory flavor and aromas of toasted chestnut

Ingredients: Organic green tea.

Additional Info: Green Teas are enjoyed worldwide for their invigorating, fresh character preserved through various crafting styles and firing methods.

Anhui, China
Water Temperature: 175°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces
Steep Time: 3 minutes (1st infusion), 4 minutes (2nd infusion)

We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

My first review for a Rishi Tea and I"m pretty excited cause it's the famous DRAGON WELL tea.

I've tried a few green teas like Jasmine (not the pearl version) and Nishi First Flush Sencha , but I like DRAGON WELL the best so far! This tea has a smokey, nutty bold flavor with a touch of sweetness. It's very balanced and the mouth feel on it is smooth. I didn't taste any over-powering "vegetable-grassy" flavors which is great cause I"m not a huge fan of that. I feel like tea should make your taste buds dance and this tea definitely is a "shaker". A tea that should be enjoyed everyday. I prefer my teas "hot," but I'm certain this tea would be great iced with lemon and your favorite honey.

Highly recommended.
