This was my first Japanese kyusu and I have absolutely loved it so far. It is perfect for brewing single cups of tea. They say that the clay enhances the flavor of japanese green teas and it truly does. It took me a little bit to get the brews just right, but that was all part of the fun. I am actually very glad that I got one with a clay mesh filter. Worrying about getting tea particles in your cup is silly and the holes are small enough in this kyusu to where not that many get through anyways. I've found that even brewing fukamushi with this pot works out quite well. Yes, some particles get through but overall it enhances the flavor. Please buy this teapot, it seems to be very good quality and is well worth the money. Brewing with a kyusu is so much more fun than your standard brewing accessory. If you love Japanese teas, and do not have a kyusu, you are missing out.
