Rooibos Pear Ingredients
Steep infused Rooibos and discard.
Rooibos Infused Pears
Lightly drizzle infusion over pears.
Cover and simmer at a low heat for 25-30 minutes.

Add 3 tbsp of Rooibos to water and simmer for about 6 minutes.

Rooibos Infused Pears Recipe

“I have a new fascination with Aspalathus linearis. Out of all the bushes in that family, this particular bush managed to gain the farmers’ attention. We now nurture it and are able to harvest, drink and cook with it. Cooking with rooibos lends the dish an earthy and slightly sweet flavor. Try it with sweet potatoes, carrots and rice for an even tastier dish!”

Ingredients
:

Rooibos Infused Pears:
3 tbsp of Rishi Tea Rooibos
3 cups of water
1 inch of fresh ginger root
6 peeled cardamon pods
3 cloves
1 tbsp sugar
3 pears

Instructions:

  • Boil 3 cups of water. Remove from heat.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of Rooibos to water and steep for about 6 minutes.
  • Strain tea and discard Rooibos.
  • Add ginger, cardamom, cloves and sugar to tea. Stir well.
  • Cut pears into wedges.
  • Remove seeds and cut off tough edges.
  • Add pears to tea.
  • Cover and simmer at a low heat for 25-30 minutes.
  • Remove pears from mixture and arrange on a plate.
  • Lightly drizzle infusion over pears.

Pair with Golden Phoenix oolong tea.
